RUSE OF FOOLS – HAPPY SONG (2018)

Spaceman (Mark Gonzalez) crashes his spacecraft into the White Sands National Monument. He is very friendly and amicable but equally naive. His curiosity for this strange world gets him into trouble with the law. In return for resurrecting the secretary’s goldfish, he is freed by the beautiful and charming secretary (Katelyn Petherbridge). The two go on a crazy adventure together, playing fugitives, before driving to the VLA where they will be teleported into space.

The entire crew, except for the director, is based in Las Cruces, NM. The production companies, Creative Media Institute and LNG Company, are both based in New Mexico. The project was shot in White Sands National Monument, The VLA in Socorro and in Las Cruces, NM. This project was a partnership between a film program (Creative Media Institute at New Mexico State University) and a production company (The LNG Company).
